Awareness and empowerment
We are continually committed to awareness by means of regular internal and external communications about gender and other types of diversity, role models, and organising events for employees. Where possible, Achmea hosts gatherings focused on diversity.
For example, in 2022 Achmea hosted the ‘Van Talent naar de Top’ (‘From Talent to the Top’) event, which had Inclusion as its theme. In addition to establishing organisational measures, we also work to increase the number of women in senior positions by offering a variety of opportunities to ambitious women. These include internal events on diversity and inclusive leadership. There is also a mentor programme aimed at increasing the promotion of women into senior roles. We also partner with organisations such as the Refugee Talent Hub, and participate in external networks such as Women in Financial Services and Women in Institutional Pensions.
